FAQs
Getting started is simple. Reach out through my contact form or schedule a free 15-minute consult to start the process. With either option, I can walk you through the next steps and answer any questions you have about starting the therapy journey.
How do i get started?
How do I know if therapy is right for me?
You don’t need to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. Therapy may be helpful if you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or want support navigating emotions, relationships, or life changes.
What can i expect in the first session?
Before the first session, you will be sent an intake package to your Jane account. Completing this package at least 24 hours before we meet is greatly appreciated so I have an idea of your initial needs. In the first session, we’ll discuss anything from this intake that I feel is important, and you’ll have a chance to go into more detail about your goals for counselling.
Do you offer virtual sessions?
Yes! I offer virtual sessions to residents of Alberta and British Columbia, as well as in-person sessions in Kelowna, BC.
What’s your cancellation policy?
I require 24 hours for cancelling or rescheduling sessions. Late cancellations and missed appointments will result in a fee.
Do you talk about what I say in session to other people?
No. Content discussed in therapy is confidential, with legal exceptions such as risk of harm to yourself or others, or required legal disclosure. If any exceptions occur, you will be notified immediately and we can discuss. I also take part in consultation, supervision, and professional development to better care for the clients I work with, and I am committed to striving toward trauma-informed care for everyone I work with - so any information I share is non-identifiable and with other professionals.
What happens if i don’t know what to talk about?
That is completely okay and normal. Part of my job is to help guide the conversation in these moments and explore what feels important at a safe and helpful pace.
Do you offer sliding-scale fees?
I offer a limited number of sliding scale spots for those who may have financial barriers to accessing therapy. Please reach out directly to discuss availability and options.
